Chris believes a client should never feel the need to "manage" their communication company. It’s the company’s job to intuit, anticipate, recommend, execute with excellence, and learn. It’s the difference between waiting for it to happen and making it happen.
Chris joined CPC Healthcare Communications as a partner in 1994 after 10 years on the client side. He was pivotal in shifting the company focus to healthcare, drawing from his background in retail drugstore marketing. Under his direction, and that of his business partner Kevin Bell, the company has grown and garnered an impressive list of awards for a blue-chip list of clients including Pfizer, UCB, GlaxoSmithKline, Biogen Idec, and Sunovion.
Chris’ strong customer service focus comes from 10 years, early in his career, spent in the restaurant industry. His proudest moment was opening The Diamond, which became Toronto’s hottest nightclub.
One thing I’d change in the industry: Establish the ability to respect the intelligence of HCPs and relax some of the regulatory constraints of speaking to them in more plain language.
As co-creator of CPC Healthcare, Kevin is passionate about new opportunities to grow and expand the business. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age, Kevin ran his own advertising business while obtaining an honors business degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. After spending over 10 years in consumer goods marketing and CRM on both the agency and client sides, Kevin eventually became partner at CPC—the fulfillment of a life-long dream.
Kevin believes that, in business as in life, any relationship is only as good as the sum of its parts. A strong client–agency relationship can help a brand flourish if both parties work together as a team. Kevin is most interested in working with clients who view their agency as a strategic partner and who want to win and have fun doing so.
Kevin loves to play hockey and golf. While his knees are now shot, he still holds the high school record for 110-meter hurdles for a borough of Toronto.
If I could change one thing: I’d get society to slow down and enjoy life.
